 FUSEWORKS microwave kiln, MAGICFUSE microwave kiln, MICROKILN microwave kilns in 3 sizes: small, medium and large. Microwave kilns are "containers kilns" which are placed in a microwave oven. Microwave kilns reach a maximum temperature of 1650 F. within minutes.

You can fuse glass jewelry, process low-fire Art Clay Silver or decorate ceramics in minutes! - in a microwave kiln! (Some PMC and ceramics processing may require higher temperatures than are achievable in a microwave kiln. Please research your requirements carefully). They are a lot of FUN!

Microwave kilns will work in ANY microwave oven, but some brands specify that a microwave oven with a metal interior must be used. Each microwave kiln brand available below will state its requirement. A microwave oven is not included in the sale of a microwave kiln. Failure to use a moving turntable (spinner) in your microwave oven may damage your microwave kiln.

Microwave kilns are currently available in three sizes: small, medium and large. A SMALL microwave kiln firing chamber is 2-3/4" diameter, a MEDIUM microwave kiln firing chamber is 4-1/2" diameter, and a LARGE microwave kiln firing chamber is 6-1/4" diameter.(It is not tall enough for a standard coffee mug, as originally stated: the manufacturer changed the specifications). As microwave kilns are not returnable, be sure that you are buying the size microwave kiln that you really need. The large size microwave kiln is not recommended for purchase unless you have had previous experience with microwave kilns

Manufacturer's instructions are included with your microwave kiln purchase and can be viewed under product listings below. Generally: Do not stack fusing glass higher than the equivalent of one double roll piece (1/8") of fusing glass plus one thin roll piece (1/16") of fusing glass OR three thin roll pieces (3/8") of fusing glass. If you do, puddling may result and glass may stick to the base and sides of the microwave kiln, fusing the top and bottom together. One microwave kiln manufacturer states that the maximum size of glass fired should be 2" square, and the maximum thickness is 2 layers of 1/8" or 4 layers of 1/16". Two layers of 1/8" x 1" x 1-1/2" fusing glass is a good average size. Larger or thicker projects may break from heat shock due to the very fast firing rate. For pieces larger than 1" or for more than 2 layers, pre-heat the fusing glass at 50% power for 5 minutes.
